Who we are
teeobi.com is run by Tonia Obi, trading as Tee Obi, based in the United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Contact us about your information at hello@teeobi.com.
What we collect and why
HR Notes newsletter
HR Notes is published on LinkedIn. If you subscribe there, LinkedIn handles your details under its own privacy policy, and we do not receive your email address.
Booking requests and enquiries
Your name, email address, any phone number or organisation you give, and your message. We use them to reply and arrange what you asked for. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries.
Shop purchases
Your name, email address and what you bought, passed to us by Stripe, our payment provider. We use them to deliver your download and answer questions about your order. Our lawful basis is the contract with you. We keep order records for six years for tax purposes. Card details are handled by Stripe and never seen by us.
Enquiries
Your name, email address, organisation and anything you tell us in an enquiry form. We use them to reply and, if you go ahead, to arrange the work. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract. We delete enquiries that don't go ahead after 12 months.
Your email and Tee's emails
To open the toolkit, guides and templates, you give your email address and we send you a link from Tee's own mailbox. Clicking it confirms the address is yours. We keep your email, first name, the page you started on and the date you confirmed, so the toolkit works and so we know who it helps. We don't use an outside mailing company.
If you tick the box to get Tee's emails, we also keep a record of when you agreed and the wording you agreed to, and clicking the link confirms it. Every email from Tee has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time at teeobi.com/unsubscribe.html. Our lawful basis is your consent for Tee's emails, and our legitimate interest in running the toolkit for everything else. We delete contact details two years after your last visit, or straight away if you ask.
Training records and certificates
When you take the Manager Capability Training, your answers and progress stay on your device. When you create your certificate, we keep your name, the date you completed, your final assessment score, your certificate number and the email address you paid with, so that you and employers can check your certificate and you can get a copy if you lose it. Questions you post in the training are shown to other learners with your first name. We keep certificate records for six years, then delete them. Our lawful basis is the contract with you and our legitimate interest in keeping training records.
My courses and signing in
To sign in, you give the email address you paid with and we send you a one-time link. Signing in keeps a code on your device for 30 days. While you're signed in, your course progress (your answers, ticks and quiz results) is saved to your account so it works on any device. If you buy places for colleagues, we keep the email addresses you give us so they can sign in and take the course. Our lawful basis is the contract with you. We delete course progress 12 months after your access ends.
Tools and My toolkit
The conversation planner, letter builders, interview practice and My toolkit run entirely in your browser. What you type, save or score stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Cookies and storage
We never use advertising cookies. Some storage on your device is essential for the site to work, and does not need your consent: your cookie choice, your reading options, anything you save in My toolkit, a note that you have an access pass, and your most recent directory search. None of it is sent to us.
With your permission only, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly tool, to count visits and see which pages are useful. It does not track you across other websites and is not used for advertising. If you choose Essential only, it never loads.
You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or clear stored items in your browser settings.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site. Each one only uses your information to provide its service to us.
- Netlify hosts the website and stores form submissions, sign ups and certificate records.
- Stripe takes payments and creates your invoice. We never see your card details.
- Namecheap provides our hello@teeobi.com mailbox, which sends your access links and replies.
- Cloudflare provides our visitor counts, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Anthropic writes the short answers in Ask Tee. Only the question you type and the matching extracts from this site are sent, not your name or email address, and they are not used to train AI models. Please don't type personal details into Ask Tee.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards under UK data protection law. We do not sell your information or share it for marketing. If we add another service, we will update this notice before it handles your information.
How long we keep it
- Access pass sign ups: 24 months from your last sign up.
- Booking requests and enquiries: 24 months from our last contact, or longer if we go on to work together.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to move it to another service, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@teeobi.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when anything changes, and show the date at the top.
