Open Doors

Disclaimer and listing criteria.

How listings work, what they mean and what they don't, and how to get something corrected.

Disclaimer

Open Doors listings are provided for information only. Being listed does not mean Tee Obi endorses, recommends or vouches for an employer. A listing is not a guarantee of a job, adjustments, fair treatment or any particular working arrangement.

Information comes from lists published by recognised organisations. It can be incomplete, and it can change after we publish it. Always do your own research and check details directly with the employer before you apply or make decisions.

Open Doors is not legal or financial advice. For advice on your situation, contact a qualified adviser or one of the organisations in our support directory.

Evidence levels

Every listing shows where it comes from, so you can check it for yourself.

Verified listing: national employer list

The employer appears on a list published by a recognised organisation, such as Business in the Community's Ban the Box employers, the Working Families Top 30 Employers or the WM People Top Employer Awards. Each profile credits the list and the date it was checked. Being on a list reflects that organisation's own criteria at the time.

Listing criteria

Second chance

  • Listed from Business in the Community's published list of employers that have banned the box.
  • The employer considers applicants with criminal convictions and can describe how it does so fairly.
  • We look for a published approach to disclosure and assessment, scheme participation such as Ban the Box, or other evidence.
  • Employers must be clear about roles where checks are required by law.

Parent friendly

  • Listed from national recognition of family friendly employers, such as the Working Families Top Employers and the WM People Top Employer Awards.
  • We look for flexible working, enhanced family leave and pay, carers support and return to work support.
  • Each listing names its source and the date it was checked.

Reviews, re-checks and removal

  • Listings are refreshed whenever the official source is updated and the site is rebuilt.
  • We may remove or change a listing at any time if we find information is wrong or out of date.

Removing your organisation

Any organisation can ask to be removed from Open Doors, for free, at any time. Use the removal request form or the "Remove this organisation" button on your profile. We confirm the request by replying to a work email at the organisation, then remove the listing.

Once removed, the organisation stays off teeobi.com, including when the published lists are refreshed. Removal from teeobi.com does not change the published list itself.

Corrections and concerns

Every employer profile has a "Report this listing" form. Use it to tell us about information that's wrong or out of date, or if you represent the employer. Please don't include personal, health or case information. You can also email hello@teeobi.com.

Open Doors is not a place to raise complaints about how an employer treated you. For help with a workplace issue, contact Acas or Citizens Advice.

Reading options

Make the site easier to read. Your choices are saved on this device only.

Listen to this page

Your device reads the page out loud.

Braille and screen readers

If you use a braille display, connect it to your screen reader, such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver or TalkBack. The screen reader sends the words on this site to your display. Every page has proper headings, labelled buttons and form fields, and text descriptions for images, so it works well with braille. Something not working? Email hello@teeobi.com and Tee will fix it.
